AGE Concern Swindon is inviting applications from people interested in becoming one of its charity trustees. We will have a couple of vacancies from July and we are looking for people who can help us do our job well.
Being a charity trustee means giving some time both to read papers and attend meetings. It requires some initiative and energy and we need people who will work in a team but who don't mind saying what they think!
The rewards are immeasurable (and they are not financial except for out of pocket expenses). What you get from being a charity trustee can be a genuine sense of contributing to the direction of an organisation that really helps.
Age Concern Swindon is an independent local charity but part of the largest voluntary movement working with and for older people throughout the UK. So if you become one of our trustees you also have an opportunity to influence the work of Age Concern regionally and nationally too.
I would be happy to send Adver readers more information about our organisation and an application pack about becoming a trustee.
