THE Institution of Lighting Engineers, western region, welcomed its new chairman at its annual general meeting.
Andy Rhind-Tutt was appointed as the chairman at a formal lunch in the White Hart Hotel, Salisbury, last month.
The Institution of Lighting Engineers aims to promote excellence in lighting and raise awareness of the contribution of lighting in everyday life, such as for road safety, crime prevention and the environment.
Mr Rhind-Tutt said that he was delighted with his new role and looks forward to arranging various events, including organising a series of technical sessions, and guest speakers throughout the western region.
Mr Rhind-Tutt, operations manager for Scottish and Southern Energy, invited fellow Wilton Rotarian Arthur Bowden to speak at the ceremony and proposed a toast to the institution.
Penny Tranter, a former pupil of South Wilts Grammar School and now with the BBC's weather team, gave a talk on weather forecasting before Richard Shelton of Jaguar Cars presented a video and talk on Jaguar's concepts for night-time vision for the future.
