RAY Baverstock has been named Dr Martens Western Division manager of the month for April/May.
The Supermarine boss guided his team to six wins and a draw from their last seven games as the club avoided relegation to the Hellenic League.
Baverstock was happy to accept the award, but glad the announcement was made after the final match at Bromsgrove bearing in mind the apparent curse such accolades usually bring.
He said: "I've won it before with Ciren and we lost 5-1 in our next game, so it's probably a good thing they waited until after Bromsgrove to give it to me.
"The award isn't just for me though it's for Pat Slattery and John Freeth and for the lads that have worked so hard to keep us up this season."
Green Baize take on Trowbridge tonight in the first part of a Mid-Wilts League under 11 title decider. The two unbeaten sides still have to play each other twice and the first crucial game takes place at Hunts Copse this evening, kick-off 7.30pm.
