Supermarine's brilliant youngsters succeeded where the senior side failed last night by taking a major county title.
Marine's men missed out on the Premier Shield on Monday, but the under 18s showed them how it's done with an emphatic 5-0 thrashing of Melksham Town in the County Youth Cup.
Melksham were simply blown away by Marine's incision at the County Ground. The Swindon side led 1-0 at half time thanks to John Magani's close-range effort.
Marine keeper Ian Gill who played for the senior team in their defeat to Salisbury on Monday pulled off a fantastic save to ensure his side led at the break, and they soon pulled clear in the second half as Stuart Bellinger doubled the lead.
Bellinger made it 3-0 with a superb lob after a quick Marine break.
Magani's perseverance paid off five minutes from time when the forward bulldozed his way through Melksham's defence to make it four and Chris Flanagan completed the rout with another superb lob at the death.
Marine manager Mike Adams was overwhelmed by the victory.
"I'm absolutely delighted," he said. "It was tremendous teamwork, from Gilly in goal through to the lads up front absolutely tremendous."
Trowbridge lifted the under 13 county title after a penalty shootout win over Chippenham. An excellent contest had finished 2-2, but Trowbridge held their nerve from the spot.
