RESIDENTS are being sought to take part in a rubbish clean-up in Cepen Park South this weekend.
Chippenham Without Parish Council is appealing for helpers to collect rubbish around the old barn and pond area, close to Drake Avenue on Saturday.
Coun John Gill, who is organising the clean-up, said: "Each year, North Wiltshire District Council encourages people to help clean-up their neighbourhood and although this is the first time we have done this in the Cepen Park, we are hoping to get a good turn-out of volunteers."
The rubbish collectors will be targeting the area of the estate close to where Drake Avenue meets Derriads Lane.
"There is an old barn and a pond which is in need of urgent attention," said Coun Gill.
"We will be giving volunteers bin bags and will spend three hours collecting rubbish from around the pond and the paths and hedgerows. Our aim is to make the neighbourhood tidier and safer, but we're aiming to have fun, too."
North Wiltshire District Council will also be doing its bit on the day, by collecting and disposing of all the rubbish collected.
Volunteers are asked to wear suitable clothes, gloves, shoes/boots and if they wish, to bring a flask of drink.
The group will be meeting near the pond, close to Drake Crescent, at 9am.
