ALAN Blencowe and team mate Luke Hines are tied in third place in the BTCC production drivers' standings after helping their Barwell Motorsport stable take the top team trophy at Brands Hatch on Monday.
Blencowe suffered gear selection problems in both races, but still secured fourth and fifth place finishes, while Hines managed two runners-up spots.
Blencowe moved up to second place in the day's second race before again suffering gear selection problems in his Honda Civic R.
"I'd had problems selecting third gear for the first race," said the Tisbury race ace. "But after getting off to a blistering start I then had problems selecting fifth. I was in radio contact with the team throughout and we managed to nurse the car through to the end of the race and take fifth.
"It was a really good weekend for the team. Luke and I are tied for third in the drivers table and the points between us made sure Barwell won the team cup."
Rounds five and six of the championship take place at Thrux-ton over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend on May 24-26.
"We're all looking forward to Thruxton," he added. Testing went well there the other week. It's my local track and hopefully we'll have a lot of local support there."
