SKURRAY'S WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: CRICKLADE Town turned in a cracking performance to hold Premier Division champions Shrewton United to a 4-4 draw in their last game of the season.
Town were leading 3-1 at one stage and had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down that could have increased their lead.
Cricklade were the first to attack and were rewarded after 20 minutes when Martin Swaddon let fly with a 20 yard shot that flashed past the visitors' keeper.
Phil Corcoran added a second before Jessie Walters pulled one back before the break.
Soon after the restart Corcoran increased the Cricklade lead and then the home fans shouted for a penalty after an apparent push but the official waved play on and Shrewton swept to the other end and pulled a goal back through Luke Kerley.
They then drew level with another strike from Walters.
Corcoran completed a fine hat-trick for his side and looked to have scored the winner but in the last minute Dean Foot netted to give his side a share of the points.
Cricklade boss Graham Clements was delighted with his side's performance.
He said: "We were up against the best side in the league and played as well as we have done all season.
"Had we had a penalty at 3-1 I think we could have beaten them."
Trowbridge Town won their third game of the week, defeating visitors Aldbourne 2-0.
Earlier wins over Wroughton and Bradford Town had shot Trowbridge up to a top five placing with an outside chance of pipping Wroughton for third place.
Trowbridge manager Neil Kirkpatrick said: "It has been a busy week for the lads but they have responded well and we have beaten three very good sides."
Bottom club Chiseldon Castrol were able to celebrate a rare victory at Pewsey Vale Reserves, beating the home side 2-0.
Chris Bailey and Wayne Clarke were the scorers.
Malmesbury Vics Reserves were trailing 3-1 at home to Devizes Town Reserves at the half-time break, but were awarded two second-half penalties which enabled them to share the spoils in a 3-3 draw.
David Edwards converted the two spot kicks and Ben Wright scored a first half goal from open play .
In the Intermediate Division, Calne Town Reserves found themselves 2-0 down at the break against visitors Stratton Crosslink Reserves, but a few choice words at half time transformed the Calne side and they came out and scored seven times to run out 7-3 winners.
Paul Taylor started the goal glut in the second period with two headers, followed by two from Mark Sharratt and one each from Daniel Allison, Eddie Everett and Pete Temple.
In the Junior Division, Wroughton Reserves and Ferndale Rodbourne Reserves fought out an entertaining 3-3 draw.
Paul Blagdon, Glenn Armstrong and Stuart Temple scored for the home side and Gary Saxby, Mark Cohen and a last minute effort from Jason Johns replied for Ferndale.
Wootton Bassett United gained a 2-1 away success over Wanborough United.
