THE Dorothy House hospice shop in Calne, which raises cash and the public profile of the charity, is celebrating its first anniversary in the town.
The shop, in Phelps Parade is thanking all its customers who have donated goods and made the shop a successful venture.
Profits from the sales at the shop, which sells clothes, bric-a-brac, books, toys and home furnishings, are used to provide care for terminally ill patients.
Shops throughout the county support the charity's hospice in Winsley near Bradford on Avon. To mark the anniversary, customers buying items at the shop in the week starting May 12 will receive a raffle ticket to enter a draw for a picnic hamper, which includes a bottle of champagne. The draw will take place at noon on May 17.
The Calne shop has only one paid member of staff and is always looking for volunteers to join the team and help with a variety of tasks.
Dorothy House Hospice Care provides support for more than 500 patients and their families in North and West Wiltshire and Bath and North-East Somerset.The charity's shops provide nearly £300,000 a year towards its services.
