BOOTS the Chemists in Devizes is to close for five days this month for a £500,000 refurbishment.
The store in the Brittox will close on May 19. New flooring is being laid and the store is being repainted. The dispensary is being redesigned and the mother and baby section expanded. There will also be a new photographic section.
Store manager Elaine Bush said: "We are delighted the company is investing this amount of money in Devizes. The store is well used by local people and I'm sure they will be very pleased with the changes."
Although the shop will be closed, a dispensary section will be set up at the front of the store so prescriptions can still be made up. The store re-opens on May 24 with a host of special offers. There will be own-brand versions of designer products.
Boots has been in the town since the early 20th century.
