THE WORKERS' Educational Association is celebrating its centenary in Swindon.
The national body is the largest voluntary provider of education in the country and has a long history of working in Swindon
On Sunday, May 18, the local branch plans a free educational family ramble around Coate Water.
The group has also announced an essay competition with the title A Great Day Out.
Entry is free, and there is a prize for each category of a £25 voucher, donated by the Swindon Learning Partnership. Adults are asked to write 1,000 words, students aged 12 16 to write 750 words, and those aged 11 and under 500 words.
Entries can be sent to Swindon WEA at the Health Hydro, Milton Road. The closing date is May 18.
