INTREPID Jayne Cooke met her fear of heights head on - and raised more than £600 for Great Ormond Street children's hospital.
The 33-year-old customer service team leader at the Farnsby Street-based Book Club Associates jumped 12,000ft - more than two-and-a-half-miles - out of a plane over the Oxfordshire countryside as part of a tandem skydive fundraising event for the famous London hospital.
And having only ever abseiled a small height before she was determined to conquer her fear during the jump.
Jayne, of Clary Road in Taw Hill, said: "I had a big smile on my face all the way up in the plane, but when it was time to jump I had no say in the matter at all.
"I ended up freefalling through the sky headfirst and it was unbelievable.
"We skydived 7,000 ft in 30 seconds and when the parachute opened it was just amazing almost as if I wasn't moving. I got a bird's eye view of the area and I'd absolutely love to do it again."
