WATER vole surveyors are needed for an event at the Cotswold Water Park in June.
The Cotswold Water Park Society, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds will be running a training workshop for volunteer mammal surveyors.
The organisations need volunteers to participate in the Cotswold Water Park Society's water vole recovery programme and the RSPB Wetlands project.
The large conservation project offers the opportunity to get out and about in the countryside and directly contribute to the conservation of the dramatically declining water vole and aiding in the recovery of the otter.
Volunteer surveyors will be shown, through talks and field visits, how to establish whether mammals like water voles are using a section of river and then how to record the information.
The event starts at 10am at the Millennium Visitors Centre, Keynes Country Park.
Visitors are reminded to bring a packed lunch, Wellington boots, and outdoor clothing.
