A CAR dealer who was caught driving while disqualified has been sent to prison for more than eight months.
Firuz Miah was still on licence from a previous jail term, magistrates heard, when he was spotted behind the wheel of a Nissan Primera at the New Inn roundabout, Greenbridge, shortly before 6pm on April 15.
And after he was stopped by police the 24-year-old lied about his details when he was spoken to at the side of the road. Magistrates heard that Miah had been banned from the road for two years at Swindon Crown Court in September last year, after he was convicted of dangerous driving. Miah, of Channing Square, Rochdale, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance and obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.
