REGARDLESS of anyone's political leanings, a clear lesson has been delivered to all Councillors.
The Swindon voting public will not tolerate excessive rises in council tax that are not backed up by performance.
These rises should be at or near the level of inflation as wage rises normally are.
Let this be a salutary lesson to the people who are elected to serve the community not to bleed them dry.
Perhaps they will think twice when setting council tax rates next year.
If they don't they will surely suffer the same fate as their redundant colleagues.
The Swindon voters have made it clearer that enough is enough and deserve respect for making a stand.
