THE young and the old are being asked to come along to a stroke awareness day in Westbury to have their blood pressure taken.
The town's Rotary Club has organised the event in association with the stroke rehabilitation unit and Eastleigh Surgery, and people can get their health checked out for free, and get advice on the risk of strokes.
Chair of Westbury Rotary Committee Adrian Cunningham said: "Anyone could have a stroke, from children to the elderly, and although it is mostly due to stress, we really want to raise awareness with people."
There will be a bus in Westbury Gardens next door to the town library, and nurses will be checking blood pressure, and if necessary, referring people to a GP for a check-up.
The event will run from 10am-4pm on May 15.
