WEST Wilts began their challenge for the under 15s County Trophy with an easy 102 run victory over Salisbury at Steeple Langford. West Wilts took advantage of some loose first bowling to put on 128 for the first wicket.
Charlie Holton, of Hinton Charterhouse, made a maiden century. The total always looked beyond the home team, and Simon Orchard of Winsley and Alex Ling of Westbury stalled the innings before it really began. Rain stopped play with the score on 115 for 2.
Given that the minimum number of overs had been bowled, run rate indicated a 102 run victory for West Wiltshire.
