PEOPLE in Wiltshire are being urged to make sure they don't miss out on any extra cash they are entitled to.
Advisers at the West Wiltshire Citizens Advice Bureau in Trowbridge are urging working parents to make a claim for tax credits.
As well as the many parents who can benefit from the new child tax credit there are many other people in low paid work who will qualify for a boost in their earnings through the new working tax credit.
Manager Sarah Cardy said: "The new tax credits system is actually quite generous and should mean more money for families with children, disabled people who are working and others in low paid work.
"But the system is quite complicated and confusing and the message has not got through clearly that people need to register their claim. They must do this quickly to avoid losing out."
The CAB can help people with their claim and ensure they get any money they are entitled to.
Those people going to the CAB for advice on tax credits should take evidence of income and benefits received.
