A CEREBRAL palsy sufferer from Trowbridge has come up with a novel way of raising money for the hospital that has helped her since childhood.
Jayne Shelbourne, 32, has had her leg in plaster since the end of March after problems with her Achilles tendon and has been asking people to pay to sign the cast to raise fund for Bath's Royal United Hospital Forever Friends Appeal.
She said: "I just wanted to thank the hospital for all they have done for me over the years and I thought this would be a nice way of trying to pay them back as much as I can."
Because of her disability Miss Shelbourne has been treated by the hospital since she was a child. This is the 25th time her leg has been put in plaster.
She said: "It is a bit of a nuisance but this time I decided to use it to do some good."
The plaster has been on her leg for six weeks and there is still another three weeks to go before it is due to be removed.
Miss Shelbourne has already raised £30 for the appeal and anyone who wishes to sponsor her can call (01225) 345498.
