AN UNEMPLOYED drunk terrorised shoppers in a Trowbridge street after a daytime drinking binge.
Barry-John Musgrove, 45, chased a boy, swore at a market stallholder and caused havoc with shoppers in Fore Street on April 25.
Police officers were called three times to deal with Musgrove in the space of 15 minutes as disgruntled shoppers made repeated complaints about his behaviour.
Prosecutor Michelle Hewitt said a shop stallholder first called police officers to the town centre at 2.45pm.
Accused of harassment, Musgrove was warned to leave the area but continued to terrorise shoppers.
Police officers returned to the scene when a man accused Musgrove of chasing a boy down the street and he was given a final warning to behave.
When police were called to return a third time, Musgrove was arrested and taken to Melksham police station.
Musgrove, of Dursley Road, Trowbridge, denied terrorising shoppers when he appeared before Trowbridge magistrates on Thursday but admitted being drunk in a public place.
Magistrates fined him £25.
