SHOPKEEPERS have joined forces to boost a shopping centre in Trowbridge.
Owners and managers of businesses in The Shires shopping centre have formed a tenants association, with the aim of attracting more shoppers.
Chairman Ruth Randall, manager of Evans, said: "The purpose of the association is to ensure the mall remains a big draw for shoppers living in and around Trowbridge and to those from other areas.
"We will be considering many exciting events to promote The Shires as Wiltshire's premier shopping centre and to make it a fun place to shop."
Centre manager Mike Murray, welcomed the new group and the positive, proactive approach they are taking ahead of proposed plans to develop the former Ushers brewery site nearby.
He said: "About 100,000 people come through the doors every week and we want to improve on that rather than lose people to Bath, Bristol or Swindon."
The association, which is open to all tenants, plans to meet once a quarter but in the interim will select people to network with neighbouring shops for ideas and feedback.
