THE opening of Swindon's biggest bookstore coincided with the first public appearance of the Advertiser's new mascot, Alfie the Alligator.
Alfie is making the rounds at summer events such as fetes and carnivals.
He is a very friendly chap, especially when it comes to children, so when you see him make sure the kids say hello and get a cuddle. You don't get to cuddle an alligator very often.
