SWINDON Schoolboys ran out comfortable winners of the Fred Coleman Memorial Trophy after a convincing display at the County Ground on Monday evening.
The under 15 team played superbly to defeat their Coventry counterparts 3-1 in the competition that honours late Swindon and England Schools coaching stalwart Coleman.
That meant a 5-2 aggregate win following the Wiltshire side's 2-1 triumph in Warwickshire in last month's first leg.
Swindon cruised into a 2-0 half-time lead at the County Ground to extend their overall advantage to 4-1.
But the hosts were pegged back after the interval and Coventry looked capable of pulling level on the day after a spell of sustained pressure on the Swindon goal.
But a superb late strike restored the home team's two-goal cushion and took the sting out of Coventry to secure a memorable success for the home team.
The under 15 side aim to claim more silverware when they take on Vale of the White Horse in the Hobbs Cup tomorrow evening. The match follows the Swindon Schools under 14 and 16 finals at the County Ground.
