FEATHERS will be flying next week when a Swindon drama group tackles a risque farce by Derek Benfield.
The Immanuel Dramatic Society decided to go for something completely different this spring and chose Flying Feathers.
June Smyth, from the society, explained: "It was our director Anne Pidgeon who really wanted a change so we took on something challenging and difficult but it is all coming together."
There are around 12 in the cast and they have been rehearsing since January. Flying Feathers runs from May 22 to 24 at the Immanuel Church Hall in Upham Road.
The leading roles are undertaken by Normal Goodall, Stuart Benjamin, Terry Pidgeon, Carol Simmonds and Marylynn Carter.
The play is based around the arrival of the Chief Constable of Police and his sister at their deceased brother's house.
They are there to sort out his affairs but encounter a mysterious solicitor, a ladies' man and a vicar. Gradually they uncover the dark secrets of this peaceful old house set in the heart of the countryside.
The Immanuel Dramatic Society has been going for 55 years and performs two shows a year - their famous pantomime which always attracts large audiences and a three act play for the spring. Tickets are £4, £3 concessions from the box office on Swindon 531710.
