THE Lady Margaret Hungerford Almshouses have opened their doors for a second season and have already welcomed visitors from abroad.
French twinning visitors from La Fleche were guided around the historical site by local volunteers last week.
The Almshouses already provide a leaflet in French and German but the new season brings with it a complete set of notes in French about all the different buildings.
Volunteer Peter King said the French notes made the guided tours much easier to follow for French speaking visitors.
The whole complex has been sensitively restored over the last few years and is now fully occupied with 11 residents.
Visitors can now walk around the extensive grounds and the old school room and chapel with its original 17th century features.
The building is open to visitors from Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm and special rates and arrangements for party visits can be made in advance.
