A CAR accident at the Kingway Bridge at Corston was one of three causing delays to commuters last Tuesday morning, as drivers returned to work after the bank holiday weekend.
The car left the road at the Kingway Bridge at about 8am when the driver, who was heading in the direction of Malmesbury, lost control at the dip under the bridge and bounced into a ditch and then returned to the road upright.
The driver received minor injuries .
The car had to be recovered later and the accident closed off the A429 northbound carriageway for 40 minutes.
A four-vehicle pile up at the Priory Roundabout at Burton Hill at 9am caused more delays.
Three cars, a Mercedes, Ford and Rover together with a moped were involved in a shunt on the roundabout. No-one was injured.
A third crash on the A429 at the Somerfords turn-off happened at around 8.15pm, when an Audi A4 hit the back of a Peugeot 106.
The accident blocked the Malmesbury bound carriageway for a short time.
