New research by Barclays Bank shows that the South West is the second wealthiest region in the country with an average Cost of Living Adjusted (COLA) salary of £29,076 (actual £21,400).
Cotswold was top in the region with a COLA salary of £35,855 (actual £26,389), North Wiltshire came in second at £35,572 (£26,181) Woodspring was third at £35,319 (£25,995) and Bristol West was fourth at £34,780 (£25,598).
Nationally Tatton in Cheshire has the highest COLA salary at £41,506 (£29,303 actual).
The Cost of Living Adjusted (COLA) income is calculated by taking the average salary for each area and then dividing it by the regional cost of living index.
