CUSTOMERS at the Old Crown pub in Ogbourne St George took part in a different sort of triathalon on Monday.
More than 70 people joined in the event, which involved running a marathon, rowing the equivalent distance of crossing the Channel from England to France and a 50km Tour de France cycling time trial.
They were never, however, out of arm's reach of the bar for as much refreshment as was needed.
The novel Static Triathalon was conducted on a running machine, rowing machine and exercise bicycle.
It's hoped the event has raised about £1,000 towards village events and activities.
Licensee Mike Shaw is one of a group of villagers who have set up the Ogbourne Fundraisers group, for the benefit of the village.
