AN elderly couple in Curzon Street, Calne has apologised to local people for delays on a narrow road because they are putting up scaffolding on the front of their 17th century home.
The house, in the busy thoroughfare, is undergoing extensive renovation work which involves taking off the current rendering and exposing the Bath stone on the front of the house.
But Maggie Seabrook, 70, and her husband Sam, 70, have promised the refurbished Grade II listed building will greatly enhance the centre of town and will be worth the inconvenience caused to drivers.
The work is expected to take a month.
Mr Seabrook, said: "We just want to apologise for any inconvenience. We wanted people to know in advance."
