Bride of the Year Lucy Griffin knows she won't be having a bad hair day when she gets married this summer.

That's because the 20-year-old from Covingham is receiving first class treatment from hair and beauty expert Sharron Whiteley.

Dental nurse Lucy, who will marry fianc Neil Zerebecki, 23, on August 2, said: "The wedding isn't far away now so I'm getting very excited. Sharron did a few demos on me and I was amazed because she got it exactly right.

"I'm a qualified hairdresser so I was even more nervous as I knew just what it should look like.

"I don't want to give too much away but if it's anything like the demo, it will look lovely."

Sharron is in charge of Lucy's make-up and hair, and will also treat her to a facial to help calm any pre-wedding jitters.

Sharron, who owns the Corner Salon in Upavon, said: "I've done about 50 weddings but never tire of them. They are all quite exciting. I'm glad Lucy was pleased with the demo. The massage helps to calm brides down and get rid of stress. It's a good thing to have on the morning of the big day."

Former Kingsdown School pupil Lucy and Neil, who attended Dorcan School, have a fairy tale history. From babies, they grew up together, became good friends, fell in love, and decided to marry and live happily ever after.

Their wedding ceremony will be held at St Andrew's Church, in Wanborough, followed by a reception at the Goddard Arms Hotel, in Old Town.
