THE farmyard came to town for the benefit of children at the Headstart Nursery in West Swindon.
Some 46 toddlers at the Delta Office Park nursery had the opportunity to take a close look at ducklings, lambs and a baby goat.
The animals were taken into the nursery by staff from Roves Farm in Sevenhampton.
Nursery worker Caroline Raynor said: "The children really loved it. We are following it up with books and stories on a farmyard theme.
"A lot of them don't see any animals because they live in the town so we thought it was a good idea to bring the animals to the children."
The animals were evidently a big hit with the curious nursery youngsters.
During the visit, Jacob Vizor, five, said: "Goats are my favourite I also like the ducklings because they are really small.
"I like it because they have come to us - I enjoyed stroking them."
Dana Lillie, 4, said: "I really liked the ducklings because they were soft."
