RUGBY players from Pewsey and Marlborough joined forces on Saturday to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The charity day was held at in memory of long-serving Pewsey member Sarah Pike, who died on January 23, aged 30.
Mrs Pike, who left husband Paul and three-year-old daughter Isabel, devoted much time and energy into raising funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Saturday's fundraising event began with an under 11s game between Pewsey and their Marlborough counterparts, before two mixed teams using players from both clubs formed the Budgie the Helicopter XV and the Chopper Squad Invitation XV sides for a challenge match.
The event ended with food, drink, post-match analysis and games at Pewsey's headquarters, the Golden Swan pub in Wilcot.
Pewsey chairman Terry Weekes, the landlord of the Golden Swan, believes the day raised more than £500.
He said: "Sarah Pike was a member of the rugby club from day one and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance has always been her and the club's charity.
"We have had to use them three or four times ourselves as a club and decided to hold the even in remembrance of Sarah while raising some money for something we both believe in at the same time.
"We were very lucky to have Marlborough to help us in our fundraising. It was an excellent day and the two matches were very enjoyable."
