WOOTTON Bassett resume their rivalry with Wiltshire neighbours Devizes tomorrow after their neighbours gained promoted at the end of last season.
Skipper Steve Twine will be hoping for another performance similar to the last time he bowled to the Devizes batsmen when he took all 10 wickets with his left-arm swing bowling.
Wicket keeper Luke Leach and seamer Ian Lancaster will hope to carry on where they left off after good performances with bat and ball along with Jake Jefferies who produced a superb spell of economical pace bowling after two years out of the game through travelling.
Tim Gallimore makes his seasonal debut after completing his rugby season.
Second XI skipper, Rod Smith, may yet be unavailable so it looks likely that veteran campaigner Chris Sugden will lead the side out in his absence in a side that sees four players missing from last week's team.
On the batting front, Sugden will be looking at himself, Dave Griffen who scored 60 last week and Steve Hale who grabbed a big-hitting 59 to provide the runs along with promising youngster Joe Lukens.
The bowling will be shared around with Graham King fresh from his four wicket haul and John Millington Jnr's spin being the most promising of the bowling attack.
The Third XI also have a local derby when they host Calne 2nds at Ballards Ash and will look to bounce back from last week's defeat at Nationwide.
Evergreen Roddy Bartlett continues his twilight comeback behind the stumps along with another oldstager in Tom Cooper who could be required to turn his arm once more.
