A TROWBRIDGE man suffering from cerebral palsy has a new wheelchair, after his local pub raised the money to pay for it in record time.
Matt Stabb is a regular at the White Swan and his friends held a series of gigs over Easter, raising £1,200.
Bands who performed included Dave, Lightside and Small Town Paranoia. Landlord Peewee Hunt said: "The bands played for free and the barmaids put all their tips towards it. We managed to raise the money in four days."
The new chair has lights, four different speeds, and is taller, giving Mr Stabb a new lease of life.
He said: "My old chair kept breaking down. It was a nightmare and meant I was just stuck in the house all the time.
"The new one is brilliant, and it is twice as fast as my old one, so it's taking me a while to get used to how fast it goes."
"I really want to say a massive thank you to all the people who helped raise the money, and I have to tell them that I am very, very grateful."
