IN response to your reader's letter about needing a new hospital in Trowbridge, I did suggest the same idea several weeks ago, and got zero response as he did.
Maybe the powers that be should spend a week in a care job like myself, and meet severely disabled and sick elderly people who have to endure four plus hours' trips to Bath for 10-minute consultations.
Transport supply has been drastically cut it seems, if they cannot drive they must catch the Hopper buses, no offence to that idea, but not ideal for many of those we care for. Also just imagine the trauma of mothers having to be rushed to Bath in labour when problems arise.
What makes councillors think more shops are needed, there are loads empty already. Marks and Spencer are struggling to survive in cities, what chance do they have in Trowbridge?
I would be more than willing to take part in any campaign to get a new hospital in our county town, so come on everyone, make this YOUR vision for Trowbridge, one that would benefit every resident.
