RESIDENTS of a housing estate are set to get a cleaner place to live if a new sewage works is approved.

West Wilts Housing Society wants to build a new biodisc system in Heytesbury, near Warminster.

The site in Greenlands, in the centre of Heytesbury, would provide improved facilities for 60 people living in the area.

Paul Moore, director of property services at West Wilts Housing Trust, is hopeful the plans will get the go-ahead from the district council.

He said: "We are replacing the existing sewage works with a modern system. At the moment there is no mains drainage."
