A WIND and sun family festival is being held on the site of a proposed wind farm at Watchfield.
Farmer Adam Twine is hosting the event which will feature kite making, circus skills and a wind-powered recording studio.
The festival is happening on Sunday from 2 to 5pm and will feature a range of energy-saving information including examples of vegetable, electric and gas-powered cars.
Mr Twine has submitted plans to build five 81-metre high wind turbines on the site.
Although the proposed wind farm has encountered local opposition it is being supported by Swindon Council.
It has yet to go before the relevant planning authority, the Vale of White Horse Council.
There will also be further details about the proposed wind farm at the event and how local people can become part owners and investors in it.
Mr Twine said: "With the wind farm having had a lot of coverage in the last few months people are thinking about whether it is a good thing or not.
"The reason behind it is the threat of climate change and global warming."
The festival is located off the A420 at Watchfield. For more details call Swindon 861070.
