STAFF at an adult education charity say a fond farewell to Trowbridge today as its office in the town closes.
The Workers' Educational Association (WEA) has had its Wiltshire base at Furnleigh House in Church Street for the past two and a half years.
But changes to the charity on a national scale have seen its work in the county taken over by the Bristol office. The charity will still, however, provide an educational programme in Wiltshire.
There are currently around 100 WEA volunteers across the county helping 20 branches and groups.
Trowbridge tutor organiser Wendy Brook said: "Although the Trowbridge office is closing our brochures and leaflets are still available in libraries.
"Our partnership work with colleges and community groups has been very valuable. This is the end of an era."
WEA's Trowbridge office is not the only closure, the charity's Dorchester headquarters is also shutting down.
