Everyone knows wrong numbers are a pain in the neck but luckily most of us are only affected a few times a year.

But imagine how staff at Paxcroft School felt when they were faced with several wrong calls a day, all for the Mead School.

Clearly it is not BT's fault the number they give out depends on information given by the caller but their solution to the confusion was ludicrous.

Paxcroft School has been around for nearly 30 years, so to ask staff to change its name was astounding.

All it took was a note on the records and, hey presto, problem solved. Why not think of that in the first place?
