PLANS to use a lake in the Cotswold Water Park for Jetskis has caused concern among residents in Ashton Keynes.

Nitrojet Action Sports Ltd in Love Lane, Cirencester, wants to use Lake 62 for a personal and watercraft members club and activities centre.

But the lake is opposite North End Works on the Spine Road and residents don't want any more noise.

Parish councillor Graham Clarke said: "They are like motorbikes, aquatic motorbikes. My grave concern is for the residents.

"The application is for around 50 Jetskis and to be able to use them from 9am until 8pm."

The company is currently using Lake 11, but due to its potential closure to build holiday homes the firm is looking another lake.

Parish council clerk Karen Leaver said: "The council has received three letters of objection from residents. They get the noise from North End Works during the week and the only peaceful day is on Sunday."

The application is likely to be decided by delegated powers at North Wiltshire District council later this month.
