FRESHBROOK schoolboy James Roberts was given a helicopter ride as a reward for his inter-galactic visions.
James, 11, from Windmill Hill Primary School, won the trip in a design competition for a 'bridge of dreams.'
The contest was organised by Priory Vale developers to show off their new bridge in Abbey Meads, but James refused to allow his vision to be confined to Earth, and designed an intergalactic motorway bridge connection Earth to Mars.
In his carefully thought out design, James even includes a light to warn approaching rockets of the flexible cable suspended bridge.
He beat more than 800 other primary school children to win a VIP helicopter ride over Swindon's northern development.
"Taking off in a helicopter was like being lifted up by a huge giant," said James.
"It was really good. We went over my school, over my house and over the bridge as well."
He also won a camera and a portable cassette player. The Priory Vale cable bridge will open in June.
