TWO Chippenham-based soldiers accused of playing a part in a racist attack will face a crown court trial.
Neil Barton, 28, and Colin Best, 22, who both serve in the 9 Supply Regiment based at Hullavington barracks, appeared before Chippenham magistrates' on Monday.
Barton, who plans to leave the army next month, denies racially aggravated common assault, a racially aggravated public order charge and provoking violence.
Best, of Avon Road, Peterlee, County Durham, who is due to fly out to Iraq with his unit within months, denies a racially aggravated public order charge.
Both were due to appear on Monday for their cases to be committed to Swindon Crown Court for trial.
