WELCOME to my first diary for the Evening Advertiser.
And there's no shortage of material, what with Gloucestershire's start to the season and a certain cricketing celebrity being crowned King of the Jungle.
I have to say I was glued to 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' when it first came on.
Phil Tufnell was always going to be popular, he's one of those chatty guys.
Having said that, I did lose quite a bit of interest as it went on. Let's face it, I've seen enough of 'The Cat' over the years.
He was always quite chatty on the pitch, when things were going his way, but he certainly went quiet if you got on top of him.
And he was never that chatty when he was batting.
It's fair to say he wasn't a natural batsman he didn't seem to like the quicker stuff and I've got to thank him really because he's added a few wickets to my column over the seasons.
Good luck to him, though. He did well and proved that cricket's not as dull as some seem to think!
Back on the field, things have been going well for myself and the team.
I've been really pleased with my start and the fact that I've been leading the wicket-taking standings.
A lot of that's down to the way the team have been playing. We've targeted the four-day campaign and so far, so good. Early days I know, but it's better to be at at the top than the bottom.
It was a bit frustrating that the weather intervened against Hampshire we looked on course in that one and Sunday's one-day defeat against Glamorgan was a bit disappointing.
Still, we've got Worcestershire coming up tomorrow and that should be a tough one. Although they're down near the bottom, they've not had much luck with the weather, and New Road has never been a happy hunting ground for us.
We've all had two rest days to prepare before we travel to the hotel tonight. Mind you, I might have to get a bit of physio on the hand. I was filling out my tax returns yesterday and today, we've got a signing session that means about 300 to 400 bats, hats, books and the like.
Will catch up next week, but if you've got any questions in the meantime, please email me at sport@newswilts.co.uk.
