There were goals galore in the Swindon Schools football finals at the County Ground last Thursday.

The tone was set in the under 14 final, as Bradon Forest beat Dorcan 5-4 to win the cup.

Ryan Child put the eventual winners ahead only for Sean Payne to equalise, but Bradon cantered into a 5-1 lead thanks to braces from Scott Rivers and man-of-the-match Tom Underwood.

Dorcan roared back with Martin Ainsworth and Sam Dent reducing the deficit to 5-3.

Tim Hall then converted a late penalty to prompt a tense finish but Bradon held out.

Goals continued to flow in the under 16 final as Ridgeway and Dorcan served up a 3-3 draw.

Arthur Levitt and Ashan Holgate put Dorcan into an early two-goal lead only for Sam Collier to pull one back from the penalty spot.

Alex Ramsay's low drive then made it 2-2 before Lee Harper restored Dorcan's advantage.

David Stroud levelled once more and the sides remained inseparable throughout extra time.

In the end it took penalties to decide a winner and Dorcan triumphed in sudden death.

The evening culminated with the Hobbs Cup final between Swindon Schools Under 15s and their Vale of the White Horse counterparts.

Swindon were beaten 3-2 in another open encounter, as visiting Vale marched into a 3-0 lead with goals from Matt Wilson (penalty), Josh Dalton-Black and Shaun Russell.

Ben Wells' free-kick narrowed the gap before half time and John Blackwell made it 3-2 shortly after the restart.

Swindon pushed in the closing stages, but they were unable to add to the Fred Coleman Memorial Trophy they captured the previous week.
