The North Wilts Junior Cricket League has been expanded this year with sides from Biddestone, Calne, Cannings, Chippenham, Malmesbury, Purton, Swindon and Wootton Bassett all featuring in the new-look line-up.
In the opening Under 13 match of the campaign, Biddestone lost two early wickets at Calne but recovered through Sam Boor (52) and Joshua Barnes (48) to declare at 154-7 after 34 overs.
For Calne, Tom Crosby took three wickets for 30 in seven overs.
In reply, Calne made a steady start with Andrew Windsor scoring 18 before Joshua Barnes brought about a dramatic collapse as he took 5-2 in just two overs.
Joshua Taylor also took three wickets as Calne eventually reached 54 all out to give Biddestone victory by a hefty 100 runs.
Biddestone picked up 23 points for the win, while Calne took four for their efforts.
The opening under 15 match saw Biddestone entertain Cannings.
Batting first, Biddestone were indebted to Christopher Lawton, who carried his bat throughout the innings to score an impressive 89 not out.
The main support came from James Taylor (25) as Biddestone totalled 174-8 in their 45 overs.
James Selby and Paul Pitman each took two wickets for Cannings.
Lee Pitman (35) and Stephen Draisey (22) then gave Cannings a solid start before fine strokeplay from Wiltshire Under 15 captain Adam Croutear (46 not out) and Charles Moss (46 not out) took Cannings to their target with 13 overs to spare and eight wickets in hand.
Biddestone claimed five points, while victors Cannings took 19.
