MINIS are the big attraction at Castle Combe circuit on bank holiday Monday as part of a bumper weekend of motor sport.

The little cars line up on the grid for qualifying at 8.35am, with racing getting underway at 1pm.

Traditional Miglias and Se7ens are joined for the occasion by BMW minis for a zany showdown.

The day also includes action in the FF1600 Championship, special GT Championship and Formula Honda single seater series.

Admission is £12 for adults, £6 concessions and under15s free.

Meanwhile at Gurston Down, near Broad Chalke, 160 top hillclimb drivers and motorcyclists compete in the latest rounds of the British Hillclimb Championship.

Saturday sees practice runs, with racing in all classes beginning on Sunday. There will be two top 12 run-offs for all vehicles and a top six run-off for the bikes.

Practice runs start at 8.30am on Sunday and tickets cost £6 with under-14s free.

Sunday and Monday see Thruxton circuit hosting the latest Green Flag British Touring Car Championship rounds.

Sunday is qualifying day, while Monday sees rounds five and six of the popular championship.

Yvan Muller currently leads the Touring drivers championship going into round five with 55 points, two clear of James Thompson. Paul O'Neill is in third place on 29 points.

Meanwhile in the Production class standings Michael Bentwood leads the pack on 54 points.

Jim Edwards Jnr is in second place with Barwell Motorsport team mates Luke Hines and Alan Blencowe in joint third with 27 points apiece.
