REVISED plans for homes on a controversial main road site in Marlborough are still being opposed by town councillors.
On Monday the town council's planning committee voted to maintain its objection to plans to demolish the bungalow at 18 Salisbury Road and build five three-storey town houses.
Previously the council objected to plans for 15 flats on the site.
On Monday Coun Maurice Cooper said he could not see a lot of difference in the design of the building in the revised plans.
He said: "If anything they are talking of taking down even more trees."
Coun Cooper said he considered the revised plans still constituted overdevelopment of the site and they did nothing to reduce the effect of extra traffic on to an already overloaded section of Salisbury Road.
In a letter of objection neighbours Ken and Jean Caswell said the revised plan was just as intrusive.
They said the opportunity to redevelop the site provided a golden opportunity "to give our lovely town something of real merit" to enhance the ambience of Salisbury Road.
