BRICKLAYING, website design and building a Formula 1 car were just three of the jobs young people got to try out at a two day exhibition.
World of Work was run by the Swindon and Wiltshire Learning and Skills Council and gave secondary school pupils aged 12 and 13 the chance to investigate various jobs to help them decide on possible future careers.
More than 24 colleges, employers and training providers were at the County Ground exhibition to meet 200 pupils.
The youngsters were from Commonweal, Kingsdown, Churchfields, St Lukes, St Joseph's, Highworth Warneford and Hreod Parkway schools.
Evening Advertiser training manager Mark Young was there to give a presentation about the newspaper's digital media department and how people enter website design or new media journalism.
He said: "The response has been excellent. A lot of people had never considered new media as a career so it has given them something to think about.
"This is a great event. There are loads of different companies here, from health and beauty to bricklaying and nursing.
"It's important for the Evening Advertiser to be at events like this, supporting the community and engaging with young people."
