POLICE have developed a role-play exercise to raise awareness about bogus callers.
Officers from the Cricklade and Wootton Bassett Community Safety Partnership organised an evening on stage in front of the Cricklade Women's Institute.
Members of the audience had to act as the householder while Stuart Dark, an actor from both Wootton Bassett and Swindon Light Operatic Societies, played a bogus water board official.
The audience were given advice on how to avoid becoming victims by using their door chain and checking a caller's identity card.
The performance was staged in the annex of the Town Hall in the High Street on Thursday night.
Future presentations are being planned for targeted audiences. For more information contact Sgt Andy Bridge at Cricklade Police Station on 750207.
