WANBOROUGH residents will be taking part in the traditional beer race this bank holiday weekend.
The three-mile course will begin at the Cross Keys before taking in the five other pubs - The New Calley Arms, The Black Horse, The Plough Inn, The Harrow and the Brewers Arms.
The race starts at 12.30pm and the time to beat is 15 minutes.
The competitors will have to overcome steep hills, a boggy bridle path and six halves of beer.
Race organiser June Law is keen for the village to maintain one of its more light-hearted traditions.
She said: "The village is getting bigger and bigger so it's nice to keep doing this.
Runners are asked to pay an entry fee of £3.50 to cover costs, including insurance.
Any money left over is donated to local causes.
In the past these have included the Wanborough Playgroup and the Prospect Hospice.
