A resident in Park North faces eviction after accusations of being a noisy neighbour.

Vincent O'Halloran, 34, of Milverton Court, was arrested for playing loud music in breach of a court injunction.

Neighbours who had to get up early to go to work complained that they could not sleep. They say the music was so loud that O'Halloran apparently could not hear the police knocking on his door.

Karen Jones, 36, who lives in the same block of flats said: "It has been going on for two years and is an absolute nightmare.

"The dance music throbs and vibrates so loudly I have to turn my TV up to drown it out. I have tried telling him, but he is just thoroughly abusive. It happens late in the evening and lasts through to the following morning."

The injunction, which was obtained by Swindon Council in March this year, allowed police to arrest O'Halloran in the event of a new complaint.

O'Halloran was released on bail after appearing at the County Court, in Swindon, on Friday on the proviso he did not play music between 9.30pm and 10.30am.

He is due to reappear at the County Court on June 4.

The Council will be seeking an outright possession order leading to eviction and an Anti-Social Behaviour Order to exclude him from the block.
